Patient and public collaboraters wanted for research steering group (Swansea University)

Posted 2021.09.30

Injuries are a major public health problem. Studies suggest that injury presentation can vary by ethnicity and health outcomes are known to be poorer among some ethnic minority groups. However, research in this area is limited in the UK.

Researchers at Swansea University are inviting x2 patients and/or members of the public to apply for a paid opportunity to join the steering group on the newly launched BE SURE study (Building an understanding of Ethnic minority people's Service Use Relating to Emergency care for injuries). They particularly encourage those from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds to get in touch. Participation will take place over Zoom, so those outside of Swansea are able to apply.

The project will run from 1st October and last for two years, with the first meeting taking place in January 2022. For more information and/or to apply contact Dr Ashra Khanom (study co-lead): [email protected]. Applications close Friday 29 October.
